Situated just over half an hour outside of the centre of Warsaw in the village of Otrębusy, The Centre for Polish Folklore ‘Karolin’ will be located in the recently renovated Palace of Karolin, which has served as the headquarters of the Mazowsze folk dance troupe for 70 years since it was established by Tadeusz and Mira Sygietyński. On display will be the colourful and diverse folk dress, regional music, song, instruments and dances of Pomerania, Warmia-Mazury, Eastern Mazowia and Podlasie, Western Mazowia, Greater Poland and Kujawy, Silesia and Lesser Poland. It will also present the history of ‘Mazowsze’ and its performances on stages around the world, including a history of the group’s stage outfits.
